James E. McPherson
James E. McPherson (born 1955) is a retired United States Navy officer, and served as the 39th Judge Advocate General of the Navy, from 2004 to 2006.〔 〕 Before his career in the Navy, he was a military policeman in the United States Army.
Rear Admiral McPherson graduated from San Diego State University in 1977 with an undergraduate degree in Public Administration.〔 He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 1981 from the University of San Diego School of Law, and in 1991, he was awarded a Master of Laws degree in Military Law from The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, Charlottesville, Virginia.〔
